SHIATSU
MASSAGE

Shiatsu massage is the bodywork equivalent of acupuncture, it’s also known as acupressure. It looks at the body energetically and in a session, the body is gently stretched, meridians are diagnosed and emotions acknowledged. Shiatsu is great for physical aches and pains but it’s also deeply relaxing. It improves sleep, digestion, stress levels and overall health.

RELAX
with

CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

Craniosacral therapy is rooted in Osteopathy and is excellent for relaxing the nervous system, releasing trauma and easing aches and pains. Much of our tension is linked to our nervous system where physical injuries, difficult experiences and unresolved emotions can be stored. Craniosacral is subtle, yet profound and can safely encourage the body to unwind.

  • “Shiatsu is more delicate than other treatments, but for me the release is just as powerful as having your back kneaded or your joints clicked,”

    Rhydian Fisher CEO @IWG

  • "That was brilliant, my neck feels so much better"

Jinny Blom CEO @Jinny Blom Associates

Body therapy can help you with a variety of different issues

Ease pain

Neck tension and back pain often brings people to clinic and can be effectively treated through body therapies. Or you may just want a whole body MOT, Alex can help you with this, too.

Let go of stress

The body is a self-rectifying mechanism, it knows just what to do.
The problem is that stress can stop the body from healing itself. Alex’s treatments break through patterns of stress and help the nervous system to ‘drop’, relax and reset.

Soothe emotions

Holding stress and upset inside creates issues with emotional regulation. Alex’s treatments provide you with a safe space to let go of whatever it is you are going through.

  • "My life has been positively transformed both personally and professionally thanks to Alex. She has helped me work through personal blocks with compassion and accurate perception, which I value and appreciate. "

    Elissa Gray

  • “After my dad died, Shiatsu helped me through the grieving process. It allowed me to experience the sadness and anger bubbling underneath instead of bottling up the feelings. Alex talked to me in the sessions and gently encouraged me to discuss my thoughts which in turn helped my body to heal.”

    Pembe Wright

Frequently asked questions

  • Absolutely, this will help and support your nervous system and if you have regular sessions they will steer you away from burn out, which doesn’t help anyone. Many CEOs use treatments as a way of keeping on top of their stress levels so they can operate optimally at work and at home.

  • Yes, two approaches can be taken, either very gentle cranio work. or if the headaches aren’t acute, movement in the upper back, neck and shoulders can be stretched and released. This will help the build up of stress that may well be causing the headaches.

  • Cranio work can really help the nervous system to ‘drop’ out of the alert state into a para-sympathetic state. Sometimes when we can’t sleep the body gets into a pattern and needs help to break out of it. Body work can do just that. I also have Yoga Nidra recordings that will help you at night.

  • Yes, absolutely, any of my treatments can support you, and soothe you. They can give you a safe space to let the grief and the overwhelm come out, and help you journey into a place where you can feel some rest in your body and mind. It is one of the best things you can do right now, so do reach out.

  • Having regular sessions keeps a check on stress levels and inflammation, which will indirectly help your flare ups.

  • Keeping on top of muscular tension is definitely a good idea. The more it builds up, the more it will pull on the imbalance of the structure that is already present. Having regular sessions will help you as you get older too, as it will try to prevent the imbalance getting worse.

  • Relaxing the body can help IBS, as can working the Vagus nerve in a session. It’s advise to also look at diet, but we can talk about that at the session.

  • Once you’ve been checked over by the hospital, yes it is. The sooner you can get a session in the sooner you can release the shock from the tissues. Come as soon as you can please.
